Established during the Edo Era in 1657 in Fushimi City, Kyoto Prefecture.  The brewery is blessed by scenic beauty of the surroundings, gentle water, and the deep-rooted food culture of Kyoto.  The year 2016 will mark the 3rd consecutive year that Kitagawa Honke has taken top honors at the All-Country Sake Tasting Competition; the brewery has achieved top honors 17 times since the competition's founding.  Utilizing modern technology to apply traditional techniques, Kitagawa Honke hopes to continue to produce sake that is revered by its customers.
