Founded in 1686, Sanwa Shuzo is located on the grounds of a Shinto shrine in Shimizu City within Shizuoka Prefecture in the shadow of Mount Fuji.  Shimizu City is famous for its water quality Legend has it that the founder, Ichibei Suzuki prayed to the River God during a full moon for quality water suitable for brewing.  It is said that the River God taking the form of a nightingale led Ichibei to a dragon shaped plum tree at the foot of Mount Asama and beckoned him to begin digging to situate the brewery there.

三和酒造㈱は、ユネスコの世界遺産に選定された富士山のある静岡県にあり、その静岡県の真ん中の静岡市清水区が所在地です。清水は昔から水のきれいな土地として知られております。当社の創業は1686年に遡ります。初代、市兵衛が酒造用の良水を授けたまえと稲荷の神に祈願したところ、満月の夜、稲荷大明神が鶯と化して市兵衛を導いて浅間山麓の梅の枝に止まったとの霊夢をこうむり、その地を掘って清泉を得て酒造業を始めたと伝えられております。

酒造りの道を志して今年で55年になりますが、これまで毎年毎年が新しい体験と勉強の繰り返しでした。今後とも日々の精進を怠らず研鑽に務めてまいります。
